COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired center Ryan Kujawinski from the Arizona Coyotes in exchange for center Jordan Maletta and have assigned Kujawinski to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Kujawinski, 22, has tallied one goal and three assists for four points with 11 penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating in 24 AHL games with the Binghamton Devils and Tucson Roadrunners this season and has notched 13-24-37, 69 penalty minutes and is +11 in 115 career AHL games with Binghamton/Albany and Tucson.

The Kirkland Lake, Ontario native was selected by New Jersey in the third round, 73rd overall, at the 2013 NHL Draft. He appeared in 231 career games in the Ontario Hockey League, registering 90-94-184 and 126 penalty minutes with Sarnia, Kingston and North Bay from 2011-15. He tallied a career-high 34-25-59 with 30 penalty minutes and was +19 in 61 games with Kingston and North Bay in 2014-15.
Maletta, 22, was signed by Columbus as a free agent on Mar. 21, 2016. He has collected 12-15-27 and 101 penalty minutes in 104 career games with Cleveland over the past two seasons, including 0-4-4 and 32 penalty minutes in 28 games in 2017-18. The St. Catharines, Ontario native spent the previous five seasons with Windsor and Niagara of the OHL, picking up 82-109-191 and 278 penalty minutes in 315 games from 2011-16.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they host the Washington Capitals. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
