Blue Jackets activate defenseman Markus Nutivaara off Injured Reserve

COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated defenseman Markus Nutivaara off Injured Reserve, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. He has missed the past 11 games with an upper body injury suffered on February 16 vs. Philadelphia.
Nutivaara, 23, has notched three goals and 15 assists for 18 points with 12 penalty minutes and a +5 plus/minus rating in 51 games this season, posting career highs in goals, assists, points and penalty minutes. The Oulu, Finland native was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 189th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft and has registered 5-20-25, 18 penalty minutes and is +12 in 117 career NHL games.

The Blue Jackets return to action on Monday when they host the Montreal Canadiens. Game time from Nationwide Arena is 7 p.m. ET.
