The Columbus Blue Jackets have added defenseman Marcus Bjork, left wing Joona Luoto and center Justin Richards to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The Blue Jackets have also assigned right wing Trey Fix-Wolansky to the Monsters.

Bjork, 25, has recorded three goals and eight assists for 11 points with 24 penalty minutes, 38 hits, 42 blocked shots and 30 shots, while averaging 18:46 minutes of ice time in 28 games with the Blue Jackets in his first NHL campaign this season. A native of Umea, Sweden, Bjork has added 6-7-13 with 18 penalty minutes and 52 shots in 40 contests with the Monsters in 2022-23. The 6-4, 211-pound blueliner signed a one-year, entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on May 24, 2022.
Luoto, 25, has collected two penalty minutes in 16 career NHL games, all with the Winnipeg Jets during the 2019-20 season. The 6-3, 201-pound forward has added 16-17-33 and 32 PIM in 72 games with the Monsters and Manitoba Moose over two AHL stints from 2019-23. He has totaled 14-11-25 with 10 PIM and 101 shots in 43 appearances with Cleveland this season. The Tampere, Finland native signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with Columbus on June 1, 2022.
Richards, 24, made his NHL debut with the New York Rangers in 2020-21 and collected an assist in his lone game with the club on May 8 at Boston. He has added 20-40-60 and 83 penalty minutes in 141 career AHL games with the Monsters and Hartford Wolf Pack since making his professional debut in 2020-21. Born in Orlando, Florida, the 5-11, 190-pound forward ranks third on the Monsters in assists and points in 2022-23, collecting 10-25-35 and 50 PIM in 54 contests. He spent three seasons at the University of Minnesota-Duluth from 2017-20 and played for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets from 2012-16. He signed a one-year NHL/AHL contract with the Blue Jackets on Dec. 19, 2022.
Fix-Wolansky, 23, has registered 1-1-2 with 17 shots in 13 career outings with the Blue Jackets since skating in his NHL debut in 2021-22. He has recorded seven shots in seven games with the team in 2022-23. The Edmonton, Alberta native has totaled 57-78-135, 127 PIM, 20 PPG and 468 shots in 158 career regular season games with the Monsters since making his pro debut in the 2019 Calder Cup Playoffs. He leads the Monsters in goals, assists, points and points/game in 2022-23 with 26-51-67 and 1.26 points/GP in 53 contests. The 5-7, 191-pound winger was selected by Columbus in the seventh round, 204th overall, at the 2018 NHL Draft.
