The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defensemen Marcus Bjork and Billy Sweezey and forwards Josh Dunne and Joona Luoto to the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate, General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.

Bjork, 25, was added to the roster on emergency recall from the Monsters on April 1. He has recorded three goals and eight assists for 11 points with 42 penalty minutes in 32 games with the Blue Jackets in his first NHL campaign this season. A native of Umea, Sweden, Bjork has added 6-7-13 with 18 penalty minutes in 40 contests with the Monsters in 2022-23. The 6-4, 211-pound blueliner signed a one-year, entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on May 24, 2022.
Dunne, 24, was added to the roster on emergency recall from Cleveland on March 31. The O'Fallon, Missouri native has recorded eight penalty minutes and 10 shots on goal in 13 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut in 2020-21, including registering four penalty minutes and three shots on goal in seven appearances with the club in 2022-23. He has added 34-23-57 with 120 penalty minutes, 12 power play goals and 235 shots in 103 career AHL games over the past three seasons with the Monsters. The 6-4, 211-pound forward has set AHL career highs in 2022-23 with 20-16-36, 67 PIM and 153 shots in 59 appearances. He originally signed a two-year, entry level contract with the Blue Jackets on Mar. 14, 2021.
Luoto, 25, was added to the roster on emergency recall from the Monsters on April 1. He has collected 1-0-1 with two penalty minutes in 20 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets and Winnipeg Jets since making his NHL debut in 2019-20. The 6-3, 201-pound forward has skated in four games with Columbus in 2022-23, making his team debut vs. Florida on April 1 and notching his first career goal at New Jersey on April 6. He has added 16-17-33 and 32 penalty minutes in 72 games with the Monsters and Manitoba Moose over two AHL stints from 2019-23, including 14-11-25 with 10 penalty minutes in 43 appearances with Cleveland this season. A native of Tampere, Finland, Luoto signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with Columbus on June 1, 2022.
Sweezey, 27, was added to the roster on emergency recall on March 27. He has registered 0-1-1 and nine penalty minutes in seven appearances with Columbus this season. He made his NHL debut at Minnesota on February 26 and picked up his first career assist vs. Ottawa on April 2. The 6-1, 206-pound blueliner has registered 4-22-26 with 202 penalty minutes in 144 career AHL games with the Monsters and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins since making his professional debut in 2020-21. This season, he has collected 0-11-11 and 62 penalty minutes in 52 games with Cleveland. A native of Hanson, Massachusetts, Sweezey signed a two-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 seasons with the Blue Jackets on Mar. 7, 2022.
