The Columbus Blue Jackets have placed defenseman Jake Bean as well as forwards Eric Robinson and Alexandre Texier on Injured Reserve, club General Manager and Alternate Governor Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. Bean was placed on Injured Reserve retroactive to January 30, Robinson retroactive to January 31 and Texier retroactive to January 26. In addition, the Blue Jackets have added forward Brendan Gaunce to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, the club's American Hockey League affiliate.

Bean, 23, suffered a groin strain on January 30 at Montreal and is expected to miss approximately four weeks. He has already set single-season career highs with four goals and 11 assists for 15 points, 20 penalty minutes and 58 shots, while averaging 21:14 of ice time in 41 games in his first season with the Blue Jackets in 2021-22. The 6-1, 176-pound blueliner was acquired in a trade from the Carolina Hurricanes on July 23, 2021. Selected by Carolina in the first round, 13th overall, at the 2016 NHL Draft, the Calgary, Alberta native has registered 5-22-27, 32 penalty minutes and 114 shots in 85 career games with the Blue Jackets and Hurricanes since making his NHL debut in 2018-19.
Robinson, 26, suffered an MCL sprain in his right knee on January 31 vs. Florida and is expected to miss approximately six weeks. The 6-2, 201-pound forward has set a single-season career high in assists with 6-11-17, 10 penalty minutes and 58 shots, while averaging 13:56 of ice time in 42 appearances with Columbus this season. A native of Bellmawr, New Jersey, he has totaled 21-26-47 with 26 penalty minutes, 222 shots and a cumulative +13 plus/minus rating in 162 career NHL games since signing an entry level contract with the club on Mar. 26, 2018.
Texier, 22, suffered a fractured finger on January 26 vs. Calgary and is expected to miss approximately four weeks. The native of Saint-Martin-d'Heres, France has set single-season career highs in goals and points with 11-9-20, 12 penalty minutes, 59 shots and an "even" plus/minus rating, while averaging 14:36 of ice time in 36 contests in 2021-22. Drafted by Columbus in the second round, 45th overall, the 6-1, 186-pound forward has notched 22-27-49 with 44 penalty minutes and 189 shots in 123 career outings since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2018-19 campaign.
Gaunce, 27, signed a one-year, two-way NHL/AHL contract with the Blue Jackets on July 30, 2021. He has recorded 6-10-16 with 47 penalty minutes in 118 career NHL games with the Boston Bruins and Vancouver Canucks from 2015-20. The Sudbury, Ontario native, who last skated in a game with the Bruins during the 2019-20 season, posted NHL career highs in goals and points with 4-2-6 and 10 penalty minutes in 37 outings with the Canucks in 2017-18.
Selected by Vancouver in the first round, 26th overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft, the 6-3, 213-pound forward has added 82-94-176 with 165 penalty minutes and a cumulative +21 plus/minus rating in 280 career games over a seven-year AHL career with Monsters, Providence Bruins and Utica Comets since making his pro debut in 2014-15. He ranks eighth in the AHL in shots and 11th-T in goals and leads Cleveland in goals, points, power play goals (tied) and shots with 16-12-28, 28 penalty minutes, four PPG and 118 shots in 39 games this season.
