The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Gabriel Carlsson to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Carlsson, 20, has registered two assists with four penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in 14 games with the Blue Jackets and has collected four penalty minutes in six contests with the Monsters this season. He has tallied 0-3-3 and four penalty minutes in 16 career regular season games since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2016-17 season. The Orebro, Sweden native has also notched 0-1-1, six penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in nine career AHL games with Cleveland. He was Columbus' second first round pick, 29th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft.
