COLUMBUS, OHIO -Columbus Blue Jackets left wing Matt Calvert will be sidelined week-to-week due to an oblique strain sustained on February 19 vs. Nashville, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Calvert, 27, has posted nine goals and two assists for 11 points with 42 penalty minutes in 51 games with the Blue Jackets this season. The Brandon, Manitoba native has registered 62-59-121 with 234 penalty minutes in 333 career NHL games with the Jackets. Columbus' fifth round selection, 127th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, Calvert posted career highs in games played, shots (114) and points (tied) in 2015-16, collecting 11-13-24 with 51 penalty minutes in 73 contests.
The Blue Jackets return to action on Saturday when they host the New York Islanders at Nationwide Arena. Game time is 5 p.m. ET.
