Sonny Milano Blue Jackets CBJ 1021

COLUMBUS, OHIO--- The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Sonny Milano to the American Hockey League's Cleveland Monsters, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Milano, 20, has skated in three games with the Blue Jackets this season. He has also registered 18 goals and 28 assists for 46 points with 22 penalty minutes in 61 games with Cleveland in 2016-17, leading the club in points and goals (tied) and ranking second in assists.

Selected by the Blue Jackets in the first round, 16th overall, in the 2014 NHL Draft, Milano has 0-1-1 and an "even" plus/minus rating in six career NHL games. He made his Blue Jackets' debut at the New York Islanders on Mar. 31, 2016 and registered his first career point with an assist in the following game at Carolina on Apr. 2, 2016. He has 32-50-82 with 44 penalty minutes and a +1 plus/minus rating in 125 career AHL games. In his first full pro season, he picked up 14-17-31, 22 penalty minutes and was +12 in 54 games for the Monsters in 2015-16 and added 4-4-8 in 17 playoff games to help the club capture the Calder Cup championship.
The Massapequa, New York native spent two seasons with the United States National Team Development Program from 2012-14 and collected 22-46-68 and 24 penalty minutes in 50 games with the Ontario Hockey League's Plymouth Whalers in 2014-15. He also notched 2-2-4 in five games for Team USA at the 2015 IIHF World Junior Championship tournament.
The Blue Jackets return to action tonight when they visit the Toronto Maple Leafs. Game time from Air Canada Centre is 6 p.m. ET.
