COLUMBUS, OHIO ---The Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned defenseman Gabriel Carlsson and forward Jordan Schroeder to the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today.
Carlsson, 20, has recorded an assist in eight games with the Blue Jackets in 2017-18 and has tallied 0-2-2 in 10 career regular season games since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2016-17 season. He also appeared in five Stanley Cup Playoff games in 2017. The Orebro, Sweden native has collected 0-1-1, six penalty minutes and is +1 in seven career AHL games, including four penalty minutes in four outings with the Monsters this season. He was Columbus' second first round pick, 29th overall, in the 2015 NHL Draft.

Schroeder, 27, has collected two penalty minutes in six games with the Blue Jackets this season and has added 2-3-5 with four penalty minutes in nine games with the Monsters. The Prior Lake, Minnesota native has posted 17-23-40 with 12 penalty minutes and a +9 plus/minus rating in 150 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild and Vancouver Canucks since making his NHL debut in 2012-13. He has added 79-121-200 in 301 career AHL games with Cleveland, Iowa, Utica, Chicago and Manitoba. Acquired by Columbus from Minnesota in exchange for center Dante Salituro on June 23, 2017, Schroeder was originally Vancouver's first round pick, 22nd overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft.
