"Jonathan Quick is a two-time Stanley Cup winner who has been an outstanding goaltender in our league for a long time and this deal provides us with draft capital that will be valuable as we move forward as an organization," said Kekalainen. "It's never easy to trade players like Vladislav Gavrikov and Joonas Korpisalo as they have been exceptional Blue Jackets but given our current position these moves were in our club's best interest. They are wonderful individuals, and we will always appreciate the contributions they made while they were here."
Quick, 37, has a career record of 370-275-82 with a 2.46 goals-against average, .911 save percentage and 57 shutouts in 743 games with the Kings since making his NHL debut during the 2007-08 campaign, including an 11-13-4 mark with a 3.50 GAA, .876 SV% and one shutout in 31 outings this season. He has also gone 49-43 with a 2.31 GAA, .921 SV% and 10 shutouts in 92 career playoff games and helped the Kings capture the Stanley Cup championship in 2012 and 2014. He won the Conn Smythe Award as the most valuable player in the playoffs in 2012 when he went 16-4 with a 1.41 GAA, .946 SV% and three shutouts.
Quick was selected by the Kings in the third round, 72nd overall, at the 2005 NHL Draft. He captured the William M. Jennings in 2013-14 and 2017-18, appeared in the 2012 and 2016 NHL All-Star Games and was a Second Team All-NHL selection in 2011-12 after going 35-21-13 with a 1.95 GAA, .929 SV% and 10 shutouts in 69 games.
A native of Milford, Connecticut, Quick has represented Team USA at the 2010 (silver medal) and 2014 Olympic Games, as well as the 2017 World Cup of Hockey. He played two seasons of college hockey at the University of Massachusetts from 2005-07, going 23-22-6 with a 2.40 GAA, .926 SV% and three shutouts in 54 games. He earned Second Team NCAA East All-American and Second Team Hockey East All-Star honors in 2006-07 when he posted a 19-12-5 mark, 2.16 GAA, .929 SV% and three shutouts in 37 contests.
Gavrikov, 27, has registered 15 goals and 58 assists for 73 points with 130 penalty minutes in 256 career NHL regular season games with the Blue Jackets, including 3-7-10 and 30 penalty minutes in 52 outings this season. He has added 1-2-3 and six PIM in 12 career Stanley Cup Playoffs outings since making his NHL debut on May 4, 2019 in Game Five of the Eastern Conference Semifinals vs. the Boston Bruins. In 2021-22, he set career highs for goals (tied), assists, points and penalty minutes with 5-28-33 and 68 PIM in 80 games. A native of Yaroslavl, Russia, he was selected by Columbus in the sixth round, 159th overall, at the 2015 NHL Draft.
Korpisalo, 28, has gone 87-78-24 with a 3.06 GAA, .903 SV% and three shutouts in 210 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets since making his debut with the club during the 2015-16 season. He is 11-11-3 with a 3.17 GAA and .913 SV% in 28 appearances in 2022-23. In nine career playoff games, all coming in 2019-20, he is 3-5 with a 1.90 GAA, .941 SV% and two shutouts. The Pori, Finland native was selected by Columbus in the third round, 62nd overall, at the 2012 NHL Draft.
