The Columbus Blue Jackets to honor those who have experienced, or are currently experiencing, the journey of cancer by hosting Hockey Fights Cancer Night, in partnership with OhioHealth, on Tuesday, November 15 when the club plays the Philadelphia Flyers at Nationwide Arena. During the game, fans will see areas throughout the arena turn lavender, the official color of Hockey Fights Cancer, which represents all cancers.

All fans attending the game will receive a Hockey Fights Cancer rally towel and are encouraged to wear lavender to show their support.
Fans are invited to fill out an "I Fight For…" battle card, courtesy of OhioHealth, located throughout the concourse. The card features a space where fans may write their personal connection to the fight against cancer and display their cards in recognition of cancer survivors and all those who have been touched in some way by the disease. The battle cards are also available digitally for fans to download, print and share a photo of themselves on social media platforms using #HockeyFightsCancer. Fans can visit

to download the battle card.
At the OhioHealth booth on the main concourse, fans will have the chance to place a ribbon on a giant cancer ribbon in honor of someone they fight cancer for. And to celebrate OhioHealth's new
Blood and Marrow Transplant
program, eligible fans will also have the opportunity to sign up for the
Be The Match [bethematch.org]
National Donor Registry to see if they are a potential match for a patient with a life-threatening blood cancer.
Players will wear special Hockey Fights Cancer warmup jerseys which will be raffled off to support the fight against pediatric cancer, a primary area of focus by the Columbus Blue Jackets Foundation since the team's inception in 2000. Hats For Heroes and additional fundraising programs have helped raise more than $4.4 million to fund a variety of support programs for pediatric cancer patients and their families, including therapy through distraction, critical research projects and assistance in providing palliative care for youth.
The evening will feature additional fundraisers to benefit the Blue Jackets Foundation and its mission to support pediatric cancer initiatives. Visit
