Columbus Blue Jackets right wing Oliver Bjorkstrand underwent successful surgery today to repair his injured ankle and is expected to be sidelined approximately eight to 10 weeks, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The surgery was performed by Dr. Greg Bellisari and Dr. Scott Van Aman at Orthopedic One. Bjorkstrand suffered a sprain and hairline fracture of his ankle on February 20 vs. Philadelphia.

Bjorkstrand, 24, has registered 21 goals and 15 assists for 36 points with 12 penalty minutes and a +8 plus/minus rating in 49 games this season, leading the club in goals, game-winning goals (five) and multi-point efforts (11). The Herning, Denmark native has posted 65-68-133, 35 penalty minutes and is +30 in 246 career NHL games with Columbus. In 2018-19, he picked up 23-13-36 in 77 games to set a career high in goals. In 2017-18, he collected a career-high 11-29-40 in 82 outings.
