The Columbus Blue Jackets have recalled forward Zac Dalpe and added goaltender Jean-Francois Berube to the roster on emergency recall from the Cleveland Monsters, Columbus' American Hockey League affiliate, as forward Artemi Panarin and goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky are expected to miss tonight's game vs. Florida due to illness, club General Manager Jarmo Kekalainen announced today. The Blue Jackets have also assigned defenseman Gabriel Carlsson to Cleveland.
Dalpe, 29, has notched 12 goals and 12 assists for 24 points with 36 penalty minutes in 140 career NHL games with the Blue Jackets, Minnesota Wild, Buffalo Sabres, Vancouver Canucks and Carolina Hurricanes. In 2017-18, he made collected 13 penalty minutes in 12 games with Columbus.
The Paris, Ontario native has posted 12-7-19 and 15 penalty minutes in 14 games for the Monsters this season, ranking second in the AHL in goals and fourth in points. He has collected 120-115-235, 148 penalty minutes and a +3 plus/minus rating in 319 career AHL appearances with the Monsters, Iowa Wild, Rochester Americans, Utica Comets, Charlotte Checkers and Albany River Rats. Originally Carolina's second round pick, 45th overall, in the 2008 NHL Draft, the former Ohio State University standout was claimed off waivers by Columbus from Minnesota on Feb. 27, 2017.
Berube, 27, has posted a 9-10-4 record with a 3.30 goals-against average and .898 save percentage in 34 career NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks and New York Islanders since making his debut in 2015-16. In 2017-18, he went 3-6-1 with a 3.78 GAA and .894 SV% in 13 contests with Chicago.
A native of Repentigny, Quebec, Berube has registered a 4-5-1 record with a 3.41 GAA and .893 SV% in 10 contests with the Monsters this season. He has earned an 82-43-5 record with a 2.39 GAA, .912 SV% and eight shutouts in 135 career AHL games with the Monsters, Rockford IceHogs, Bridgeport Sound Tigers and Manchester Monarchs. Los Angeles' fourth round selection, 95th overall, in the 2009 NHL Draft, he was acquired by Columbus in a trade with Chicago on June 27, 2018.
Carlsson, 21, has posted 0-3-3 and six penalty minutes in 17 career games with the Blue Jackets since making his NHL debut at the end of the 2016-17 campaign. He suited up in the 2018-19 season opener at Detroit on October 4, recording one shot and two penalty minutes in 9:21 of ice time. In 2017-18, he posted 0-2-2, four penalty minutes and an "even" plus/minus rating in 14 games with the club. The Orebro, Sweden native also has collected 3-10-13 and 18 penalty minutes in 48 career AHL games with the Monsters, including 1-6-7 and two penalty minutes in 12 outings this season.
