When the Columbus Blue Jackets hit the ice for practice Saturday at the University of British Columbia, they were greeted by a welcome sight.
And it wasn't just the friendly confines of Father Bauer Arena, the unique 56-year-old barn that was a cozy home with downtown Rogers Arena booked.
It was goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky, who was back on the ice after missing Thursday's game at Edmonton with an injury.

Head coach John Tortorella said at the time only that Bobrovsky was "nicked." The goaltender went a step further Saturday, saying he has an upper-body injury that has been bothering him for a couple of weeks.
But with his return for the full practice Saturday, Bobrovsky said he hopes he can go in Sunday evening's game at Vancouver.
"I feel better, but let's see tomorrow morning how it feels and we will decide then," he said.
At the Blue Jackets' optional skate on Sunday morning, Tortorella said Bobrovsky would start vs. the Canucks.
Bobrovsky is 31-23-1 this year with a 2.72 goals-against average and .909 save percentage. He has been playing some of his best hockey of the season, posting wins in four of his last six starts with a 1.66 GAA and .946 save percentage in that span.
In his stead, Joonas Korpisalo started the game vs. Edmonton and was the goalie of record in the 4-1 loss to the Oilers.
Bobrovsky said he didn't want to hurt the team, which is why he did not test the injury vs. Edmonton.
"I didn't believe I could help the team in this condition," he said. "I have experience. I know my body. You want to go out there with the gear and help the team win the game, but if there's any concern that I don't feel like I can help, then it's not fair to put the gear and and play and force things."
