Simon the doggo

What do you call a frozen dog? A pupsicle!
Columbus Division of Police therapy dog Simon didn't quite get to that point, but he did come on the ice before the game against the San Jose Sharks tonight to drop the ceremonial first puck on First Responders Night presented by Jet's Pizza.

Columbus Police therapy dog Simon drops the puck

Simon is a member of the Columbus police division's Therapy Dog Program and has been with the Division since the start of the unit in 2019. Part of Simon's role is to help provide support to people, whether that be in a hospital or after a traumatic incident.
"Simon helps victims during traumatic events get through one of the hardest days of their lives." said Officer Mike Paulins of the therapy dog unit.
When asked about how Simon would feel about dropping the puck, Paulins had no worries.
"He's got dropping the puck down," Paulins said.
Simon was a highlight of the First Responders Night festivities that included Trent Everhart and Steven Stover, captains of the Columbus police and fire teams, respectively,
