EVAN GARDNER (SASKATOON, WHL)

The second-round draft pick in 2024 is second in the WHL in both GAA (2.53) and save percentage (.919) after a 36-save performance in a win vs. Tri-City on Saturday. In his last four games, Gardner has allowed just five goals and has a .957 save percentage.

AIDEN HRESCHUK (BOSTON COLLEGE, NCAA)

Acquired in a trade with Carolina in 2022, the third-round draft pick posted his first career two-goal game Nov. 15 vs. UConn. The senior defenseman had just four career tallies before the contest.

LUCA MARRELLI (OSHAWA, OHL)

The 2024 third-round pick posted identical 1-2-3 lines in games this weekend vs. Barrie and Kingston. Through Nov. 17, Marrelli has 11 goals and 31 points in 22 games to tie for fifth in the league in points and lead all OHL defensemen in goals and points.

CLEVELAND MONSTERS

The top affiliate of the Blue Jackets has won six in a row after overtime wins Friday and Sunday in Providence. Rookie defenseman Denton Mateychuk had each of the OT winners, while Rocco Grimaldi had seven points (two goals, five assists) in the weekend series.

Grimaldi (6-12-18 in 11 games) is now third in the league in scoring while Mateychuk is tied for seventh. The 20-year-old blueliner leads all AHL defenseman in goals (six) and points (16).

Now 10-4-0-1 and in second place in the AHL North, Cleveland heads home for games Saturday and Sunday vs. Milwaukee.
