UPDATE (Oct. 10): Ken Hitchcock said Jake Allen would skate with the trainers on Tuesday morning and if all went well, he would join the team for Tuesday's practice. "If everything goes well, he'll play Wednesday," Hitchcock said.
ST. LOUIS - Jake Allen left Saturday's preseason game against the Chicago Blackhawks after one period with an apparent injury.
Allen looked to be injured after making a save with 2:18 left in the first period. Chicago Blackhawks forward Richard Panik tripped Blues defenseman Carl Gunnarsson, who fell onto Allen.
The Blues goaltender was slow to get up and was attended to by Head Medical Trainer Ray Barile. Allen stayed in the game for the remainder of the first period, but did not play in the second or third.
