The Colorado Avalanche start a three-game road trip in New York taking on the Islanders on Monday at 5:30 p.m. MT.
The two teams last played less than a week ago on the first day of March in Denver, with Colorado securing a 5-3 win over New York. Devon Toews led the team with three points (one goal, two assists).

The Avs' last match took place at home against Calgary last Saturday, a 4-3 overtime loss for Colorado. Both Nazem Kadri and Valeri Nichushkin tallied two assists, Cale Makar and Alex Newhook posted one each, and Nathan MacKinnon, Gabriel Landeskog and Andre Burakovsky took home the goals.
This contest against the Islanders is the first of a back-to-back, with the team traveling to New Jersey to challenge the Devils on Tuesday.

COLORADO-NEW YORK CONNECTIONS

Islanders goaltender Semyon Varlamov played eight seasons with the Avalanche (2011-2019). He posted a 183-156-38 record with a 2.72 goals-against average, .915 save percentage and 21 shutouts in 389 games with Colorado, trailing only Patrick Roy on the franchise's all-time lists in wins, games, shutouts and save percentage… Islanders defenseman Scott Mayfield played two seasons at the University of Denver (2011-13).

The Avs maintain a 19-14-4 record against the Islanders since relocating to Denver in 1995, including a 14-3-3 record as the home team. This will be the final matchup between the two teams this season.
