Binnington signs 6-year, $36 million extension with Blues

ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the Blues have signed goaltender Jordan Binnington to a six-year contract extension worth $36 million ($6 million AAV).

Binnington, 27, was originally drafted by the Blues in the third round (No. 88 overall) of the 2011 NHL Draft. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native is currently in his third season with the Blues and has posted a 63-24-11 record, a 2.38 goals-against average, a .915 save percentage and eight shutouts across 102 regular-season games.
Since making his first career NHL start on Jan. 7, 2019 (3-0 win at Philadelphia), Binnington ranks second among goaltenders in wins, eighth in goals-against average and fourth in shutouts (min. 30 starts).

In 2019, he led the Blues from the bottom of the NHL standings to the Stanley Cup Championship, logging a 16-10-4 postseason record and becoming the first rookie goaltender in League history to record all 16 of his team's playoff wins. The following season, he ranked third among all goaltenders with 30 wins (30-13-7) and earned his first NHL All-Star selection.
This season, the 6-foot-1, 174-pound goaltender has made 19 appearances, posting a 9-6-3 record.
