ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues today announced the hiring of Roger Hacker as the team's new Vice President, Chief Communications Officer, along with an expansion of the team's original content creation strategy that Mike Caruso will lead in the new role of Vice President, Executive Producer.

In this new position, Hacker will oversee all aspects of communications related to the Blues hockey operations and serve as the team's lead liaison with local, national, and international media. Hacker and his team will also be responsible for developing and executing the organization's communications efforts around business operations, community initiatives, and all programming for Enterprise Center and Stifel Theatre.
Caruso carries his 30-plus years of experience with the Blues into helping lead the continued expansion of the team's original content offerings in collaboration with Blue Note Productions. Caruso will partner with Blue Note Productions and other departments throughout the organization to explore, develop, and execute new platforms and long-form content. He will also work with game day productions, fan events, and other departments on the creation, execution, and marketing of various organizational initiatives.

A native of Belleville, Ill., Hacker has 22 years of team, corporate, and public relations agency experience, the last nine years in corporate communications at the San Francisco 49ers. Responsible for managing communications for the team's business, marketing, community, and international initiatives, as well as all programming for Levi's Stadium and major events such as the 2015 NHL Stadium Series. He began his career in the NFL with the Chicago Bears from 2000-07.
Prior to joining the 49ers, Hacker worked in Global Brand and Sponsorship Communications for Visa where he led communications for their partnerships with the NFL, FIFA, and IOC - including the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. The University of Illinois graduate first worked in hockey communications at the Salt Lake 2002 Olympic Winter Games, serving as a liaison between the NHL and international media for the men's and women's ice hockey competitions. Hacker also worked at the international headquarters of FleishmanHillard in St. Louis from 2007-12.
