Since his retirement, Savard, 42, has remained active in hockey. He began work in broadcasting, appearing as an analyst on Hockey Night in Canada and on Toronto Maple Leafs pre- and postgame coverage on Fan 590 radio in Toronto.
Savard has also been working in coaching, including running skills and development in the Peterborough Pete's organization.
A native of Ottawa, Ontario, Savard enjoyed a 13-year NHL career. Originally drafted by the New York Rangers in the fourth round of the 1995 NHL Draft, Savard amassed 706 points across 807 career regular-season games between the Rangers, Calgary Flames, Atlanta Thrashers and Boston Bruins.
A two-time All-Star, Savard also dressed in 25 career postseason games and captured the 2011 Stanley Cup as a member of the Bruins.
