"He came back with the hope to stay with our team," Armstrong said. "Obviously as our health improved, Blais is very close to playing... I didn't feel it was fair to bring Troy out here (on the four-game road trip) and to do this on the road now knowing that we had extra players (healthy) now."
Armstrong said he would meet with Brouwer after the road trip.
Brouwer has played in 10 games with the Blues this season, posting one goal.
