While with the team, the Blues' moms will come to the arena for morning skates, sit in on the team meetings, ride on the team bus, enjoy pregame dinners and cheer on their boys from the stands.
"It's so amazing to be able to share this experience with my mom," said Blues captain Ryan O'Reilly, who will be joined by his mother, Bonnie. "She takes the games harder than I do. If we lose or I don't play well, she's more upset than I am. She's just as invested as me. She's super excited and I'm excited to have her. You can't beat that connection."
"Every mom has a story about driving us to practice early mornings, putting a lot of miles on the cars, spending all their time away from work to get us to and from hockey," added Torey Krug, whose mom, Cheryl, will come from Michigan to join the trip. "I'm obviously very grateful and thankful they get to come see what we do on the road. I don't get to spend much time with her anymore, so it's nice when we get to spend a few days together."
Ivan Barbashev's mom will travel the furthest to join the trip. She boarded a plane from Moscow, Russia, then had connections through Doha, Chicago and St. Louis before arriving in Denver - all combined for approximately more than 10,000 miles. Nathan Walker's mom, who traveled from Australia, came the next longest distance and covered approximately 9,420 miles from Sydney to Dallas to Denver.
