ST. LOUIS - If there is a record for most preseason games played by a Blue, Sammy Blais has probably crushed it over the past two seasons.
Blais played in seven preseason games in 2017, and counting Friday's game against the Dallas Stars, he will have played in five of six preseason contests this year. Although stats in the preseason are far from exact science (preseason games played in neutral site arenas aren't always officially recorded)... that's still a lot of preseason games for one player.

"I think that's good for me because I can show what I can do," Blais told stlouisblues.com after Friday's morning skate at Enterprise Center. "It makes me ready for the season, and if I play that many games, it means they're looking at me in the right way."
Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said seeing a lot of minutes in the preseason is definitely a good thing for the Montmagny, Quebec native.
"There are three types of players we have in training camp," Yeo told stlouisblues.com. "The first group is the guys we know are going to be on our team and guys we have to get ready for the start of our season. The second group is guys we think can be on our team, and we want to give them as many games as possible so that we can have the right information to make the right decision. The third group is guys we know are going to start in the minors or junior, whatever the case is. But we think they're prospects and want to give them good experience."
It's obvious that Blais falls solidly into Group 2.
Last season, Blais recorded two goals and two assists in seven preseason appearances.
This year, he's got four goals in four games.
"I think I've had a pretty solid camp so far," Blais said. "I think I'm getting better every game. I just have to keep doing that. With whatever opportunities I have, I just got to show them that I belong here and that's what I'm going to try to do again tonight."
