Blues return home to host Flames

ST. LOUIS - The St. Louis Blues (6-2-1) are looking to bounce back from an overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights in their last game on Saturday. The Blues outshot the Golden Knights 49-22 in the game, setting a season high in shots for and a season low in shots allowed, but William Karlsson's goal with 24 seconds left in overtime sent the Blues home with only one point in the game.
The Calgary Flames (5-4-0) earned a 3-2 victory on the road last night at Bridgestone Arena, where they defeated the Nashville Predators in a shootout. Calgary overcame a 2-0 deficit with two goals in the third period - one from Matthew Tkachuk and another from Michael Ferland. Tkachuk would score again in the shootout to seal the win for Calgary.

The Blues went 1-1-1 against the Flames last season and have earned at least one point in 11 of their last 13 matchups overall (9-2-2).

At Scottrade Center, the Blues have points in eight of their last nine games vs. Calgary.

TWO BLUES SET TO DEBUT

Two players will make their regular-season Blues debuts tonight against Calgary. Defenseman Nate Prosser will play with Carl Gunnarsson becoming a father for the first time this morning. Beau Bennett, who was recalled from the Chicago Wolves on Tuesday, will play on a line with Magnus Paajarvi and Oskar Sundqvist.
Prosser played in four preseason games, recording three assists. He played in 282 games for the Minnesota Wild, where Yeo coached him from 2011-2016.

"We've been looking for an opportunity (to get Prosser in), but the group of defenseman that had been playing had been doing a really nice job. We didn't want to mess with that," Yeo said. "Typically we would have liked to get a guy in a little earlier. He's had to sit around for a little while. He had a good camp, but Nate knows his game, we know his game. He's a veteran guy and he's a competitive guy, so I don't think it will take him long to get going."
Bennett was signed by the Blues on the first day of free agency and made three appearances in the preseason. Since joining the Chicago Wolves, Bennett has played in five games, posting three points (one goal, two assists) and six penalty minutes.
"What we're looking for is a guy who is going to come in and be reliable without the puck," Yeo said. "He's a guy that's been able to contribute and find offense at the NHL level, and we want to see if he can find his game with us here tonight. I know he's motivated. The stint he went to Chicago for was a real good thing for him, so I'm anxious to see his game."

  - The Blues are one of just two teams that haven't been beaten at home this season (Tampa Bay Lightning). Dating back to last season, the Blues have points in nine of their last 10 home games overall. Since Yeo took over on Feb. 2, the Blues are 10-4-1 at Scottrade Center for a .700 win-percentage, which is eighth best in the League in that stretch.
