Vince Dunn's goal 13:34 into the first period Saturday in Pittsburgh gave the Blues a 2-0 lead and gave him 10 goals for the season, joining Alex Pietrangelo (12) and Colton Parayko (10) in making history.
"We've set a record for the franchise, so that's a big accomplishment for our D corps," Dunn said after the game. "Other than that, I think it's a big win for us to move forward on."
"We use our D a lot from the offensive side of things," Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said. "Whether they're up in the play on the rush or in the offensive zone, so they're going to get a lot of looks all the time. We want them to shoot the puck from the back end, and we want them to be up in the rush and the play. That's going to be part of our offense."
The Blues would get two more goals from defensemen in the game for a total of 44 for the season, which ranks first in the League. The Blues also rank first in the League in game-winning goals from defensemen with 11.
