ST. LOUIS - Defenseman Robert Bortuzzo has signed a two-year contract extension worth $1.9 million ($950,000 AAV).

"It feels good. I'm excited, I'm glad they're putting a little more faith in me," Bortuzzo said. "It's no secret I love being here, being around this team and this organization. It all came together pretty quick, seemed like both sides wanted to get it done. I'm excited… we've got a good squad here and it's exciting to be part of."
Bortuzzo, 32, was originally acquired by the Blues via trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 2, 2015.

"It's a weird feeling getting traded, a lot of weird emotions," Bortuzzo recalled. "But going back, it was one of the best things that happened in my career. I ended up in a spot with a team that wanted me... It's been good."
The 6-foot-4, 216-pound defenseman has spent the past eight seasons with the Blues - including 2018-19, when he helped the team capture its first Stanley Cup championship.
Overall, across 11 NHL seasons, Bortuzzo has totaled 66 points (18 goals, 48 assists) and 443 penalty minutes in 454 regular-season games.
He currently ranks 17th amongst defenseman in Blues history with 341 regular-season games played.
