FIRST STAR - Sidney Crosby, C, Pittsburgh Penguins
Crosby led the NHL in goals (t-4), assists (7) and points (11) across four games to propel the Penguins (9-7-3, 21 points) to a 3-1-0 week. He scored once in a 5-2 loss to the Toronto Maple Leafs Nov. 15 to surpass Bryan Trottier for sole possession of 17th place on the NHL's all-time points list. Crosby then registered 2 2-4, his 36th career four-point performance and first of the season, in a 6-4 win versus the Minnesota Wild Nov. 17. He collected two assists in a 3-0 victory over the Winnipeg Jets Nov. 19 before closing the week with 1-3-4, including his 80th career game-winning goal (tied for 36th place in League history), in a 5-3 triumph against the Chicago Blackhawks Nov. 20. The 35-year-old Pittsburgh captain and two-time Hart Memorial Trophy winner ranks seventh in the NHL with 10-17-27 through 19 total appearances thus far in 2022-23.
SECOND STAR - PAVEL BUCHNEVICH, LW, ST. LOUIS BLUES
Buchnevich collected three goals and four assists last week, helping the Blues go 4-0-0. The 6'1, 196-pound forward began the week with a pair of assists in the Blues' 3-2 win over the defending Stanley Cup-champion Colorado Avalanche. Three days later, he posted a goal and the game-decicing shootout goal in a 5-4 win over the Washington Capitals. Buchnevich capped off the week with his second career four-point night (two goals, two assists) in a 6-2 win over the Anaheim Ducks. Overall, Buchnevich has helped lead the Blues to six consecutive wins, giving the team an NHL record for most consecutive wins immediately following eight consecutive losses in regulation. Since Nov. 10, the Blues pace the NHL with 12 points, rank second in goals for per game (4.33) and eighth in goals against per game (2.50).
THIRD STAR - MARTIN JONES, G, SEATTLE KRAKEN
Jones went 2-0-0 with a 1.90 goals-against average and .932 save percentage to guide the Kraken (10-5-3, 23 points) to a pair of overtime wins. He turned aside 28 of 30 shots in a 3-2 triumph against the New York Rangers Nov. 17. Jones, in his seventh straight start (dating to Nov. 3), then made 27 saves in a 3-2 victory over his former team, the Los Angeles Kings, Nov. 19. The 32-year-old Jones, who signed with Seattle in July, has compiled a 9-4-2 record, 2.30 goals-against average, .913 save percentage and one shutout through 15 total contests thus far in 2022-23.
