MARYLAND HEIGHTS - Last August, officials from the St. Louis Blues, the City of Maryland Heights and the St. Louis Legacy Ice Foundation broke ground on the 277,000 square-foot
Centene Community Ice Center, a facility that will feature four NHL-sized ice surfaces
, including one outdoors.

The facility will serve as the practice home of the Stanley Cup Champion St. Louis Blues and also will serve Blues Alumni, Lindenwood University hockey, the St. Louis AAA program and the St. Louis Lady Cyclones.
Slated to open in September, the Centene Community Ice Center is expected to attract more than one million visitors and drive more than 16,000 hotel night bookings to deliver an estimated $20 million annual impact on the region's economy.
