Joel Edmundson, who has yet to play in the regular season while nursing a groin injury he sustained in the preseason, will return to the lineup Thursday when the Blues host the Calgary Flames at Enterprise Center.
"We've given up 10 goals against in two games, and I don't think it's a coincidence," Blues Head Coach Mike Yeo said of being without Edmundson. "It doesn't mean we can't win when we're missing players out of the lineup, but obviously when its one of your key defensemen, one of your top defenders is out of the lineup, that has an impact.
"I certainly expect him to come in and influence the game, not just the defensive side of things, (but) the physical side of things," Yeo added. "And he helps our execution as well."
Edmundson, who was a restricted free agent in the offseason, agreed to a one-year, $3 million deal with the Blues in June.
