Last August, 14-year-old Holly Connor made a home video of her performance of the Star Spangled Banner and submitted her application to audition at Powell Symphony Hall to be the Blues' anthem singer.
She never got invited to the tryout.
The truth is, she didn't need to.

The St. Louis Blues were blown away by her talent and didn't require additional auditions. Connor will perform Saturday before the Blues meet the Pittsburgh Penguins at Enterprise Center (7 p.m., FSMW, 101 ESPN).
Connor was born blind due to an optic nerve that never fully developed, and she's also autistic.
According to a March article in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, she has performed in 21 stage productions over the last three years, plays piano in her school jazz band, takes acting classes and dancing and singing lessons.
