ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that assistant coaches Craig MacTavish and Mike Van Ryn will not be returning to the team for the 2023-24 season.
Assistant Coach Steve Ott and Goaltending Coach David Alexander will remain on the team's coaching staff, along with Video Coach Darryl Seward and Video Coordinator Elliott Mondou.

Armstrong will address the coaching changes and other organizational topics during his end-of-the-season press conference on Saturday morning at Centene Community Ice Center.
MacTavish joined the Blues coaching staff in 2022-23 for his lone season as an assistant coach behind the team's bench. After finishing his 17-year playing career with the Blues in 1997, MacTavish served as an assistant coach with the New York Rangers and as head coach of the Edmonton Oilers from 2000-09.
Van Ryn spent five seasons as an assistant coach with the Blues after being hired on May 30, 2018. He played for the Blues for the first three of his eight seasons as a defenseman in the NHL and then coached for eight years between the OHL and AHL prior to joining the Blues ahead of the Stanley Cup winning season of 2018-19.
