ST. LOUIS - Just days before the 2018-19 season began, the Blues bolstered their defensive corps by acquiring Jakub Jerabek. St. Louis
traded a conditional sixth-round pick in 2020 to the Edmonton Oilers
in the deal.

Jerabek's arrival in St. Louis was delayed while he awaited his visa, but the 27-year-old is here now and has been practicing with the team this week.
He will make his Blues debut on Thursday against the Calgary Flames.
Jerabek is a native of the Czech Republic and played in the Kontinental Hockey League before joining the Montreal Canadiens last season. In February, Jerabek was traded to the Washington Capitals, where he played in 11 regular-season games and appeared in two playoff games.
Before Jerabek takes the ice for the Blues, stlouisblues.com had a few questions for the defenseman to learn a little more about him.
BLUES: How do you like St. Louis so far?
JAKUB JERABEK: It's nice. I'm in the Clayton park area. It's nice around there. There's a lot of green stuff, which is what I like.
BLUES: What's your biggest strength on the ice?
JJ: Solid defense, good breakouts, good puck-mover.
BLUES: What did you know about the Blues organization before the trade?
JJ: I spoke with Dmitrij Jaskin and he told me some things about the guys here. So I didn't know much, but I'm trying to get better. Note: Jerabek and Jaskin have both represented the Czech Republic in international competition
BLUES: What's something Blues fans might not know about you?
JJ: My father, he was a soccer player and my sister, she's playing handball in Europe, so we are kind of a sports family.
