Mercy Sports Performance Center opens at Blues practice facility

Mercy Sports Performance powered by EXOS held its ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday and is now open to the public at Centene Community Ice Center.
The state-of-the-art facility, which provides equipment necessary for training, treatment and rehabbing from injuries, overlooks the St. Louis Blues practice rink at Centene Community Ice Center. It provides an amazing view of team practices at the rink, which opened in September 2018 and also serves Blues Alumni, Lindenwood University Hockey, the AAA Blues and Lady Cyclones.

"This facility is for the entire community, it's not just one sport specifically," said Joe Aiello of Mercy Sports Performance. "It doesn't matter if you're a youth athlete or an elite-level athlete, our performance staff here can take your game to whatever level you want it to be."
"To have the gold standard in sports medicine programs, you have to have excellent primary care sports (medicine), you have to have excellent orthopedics, you have to have your rehab with physical therapy, athletic trainers and then the performance side," said Dr. Brian Mahaffey from Mercy Clinic Sports Medicine. "This is a great partnership with the youth Blues, with the (St. Louis) Blues in general, and we're thrilled about it."
Mercy is entering its second year as a partner of the St. Louis Blues and has been been a major part of the development and opening of the Centene Community Ice Center.
