USA Hockey and Team USA General Manger Chris Clark announced today that Blues defenseman Scott Perunovich has been named to Team USA's roster for the 2023 IIHF World Championship.
The tournament is set to begin on May 12 with games being held in Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia.

Perunovich, 24, will be representing the United States for the third time in his career after playing in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in 2015 and the 2018 World Junior Championships, where he earned a bronze medal. The 5-foot-10, 175-pound defenseman was originally drafted by the Blues in the second round (No. 45 overall) of the 2018 NHL Draft.
Following a three-year career at Minnesota-Duluth, during which he won the 2020 Hobey Baker Award and helped the Bulldogs capture back-to-back NCAA national championships in 2018 and 2019, the Hibbing, Minnesota, native made his NHL debut with the Blues on Nov. 16, 2021.
Overall, Perunovich has appeared in 19 games with the Blues, totaling six assists and eight penalty minutes.
