BLUES The St. Louis Blues fell behind 2-0 on Monday night before they responded with five unanswered goals to earn a 5-2 win against the Vegas Golden Knights.
The win included three goals in a span of 2 minutes and 15 seconds in the first period to help the Blues quickly erase the early two-goal deficit.
Justin Faulk scored his 100th career goal, David Perron and Vladimir Tarasenko each had two assists and Jordan Binnington made 32 saves in the win - the Blues' second in their last three games.
"It was not the start we were looking for obviously, but at that point in the game, you know there's lots of time left," said Tyler Bozak, who scored in the win. "Some big goals to get the lead, and then I thought we played well the rest of the way."
The win pulled the Blues back into second place in the Central Division with 22 points, just one point behind the division-leading Minnesota Wild.
Brayden Schenn will return to the lineup on Wednesday in Detroit
after missing nine games with an upper-body injury. Schenn's return means the Blues have a fully healthy roster for the first time all season.
RED WINGS Dylan Larkin scored for the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday, but Arizona's Clayton Keller scored 25 seconds into overtime to hand Detroit a 2-1 loss at Gila River Arena.
The Red Wings were winless on their four-game road trip (0-3-1) and were outscored 17-8 in those four games.
Detroit returns home to Little Caesars Arena for a two-game homestand, which begins Wednesday against the Blues. Detroit is 5-2-2 at home this season.
As of Tuesday, the Red Wings were fourth in the Atlantic Division with an 8-9-3 record (19 points).
Lucas Raymond, the Red Wings' first-round pick (No. 4 overall) in 2020, leads Detroit with 19 points (seven goals, 12 assists) in 20 games this season. In addition to Raymond, four other Red Wings are in double-digits in points: Tyler Bertuzzi (17), Dylan Larkin (16), Moritz Seider (13) and Vladislav Namestnikov (10).
Alex Nedeljkovic and Thomas Greiss have shared the goaltending duties for the Red Wings this season. Nedeljkovic has posted the better numbers thus far, going 4-3 with a 2.83 goals-against average and a .914 save-percentage.
HEAD TO HEAD Wednesday's game will be the 287th meeting between the Blues and Red Wings. The teams are meeting Wednesday for the first time since Oct. 27, 2019 (759 days).
The Blues have won two consecutive matchups with the Red Wings and five of the last six meetings.

PLAYERS TO WATCH

BLUES Brandon Saad, who has scored power-play goals in three consecutive games entering Wednesday's matchup. Saad is tied with Jordan Kyrou for the team lead in goals (eight) despite playing four less games.
RED WINGS Robby Fabbri, who was drafted by the Blues in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2014 NHL Draft. Fabbri played four seasons with the Blues before being traded to the Detroit Red Wings in November 2019 in exchange for Jacob de la Rose. In 20 games this season, Fabbri has three goals and five assists (eight points). Because of COVID-19, Wednesday's game will be the first time the Blues have faced off against Fabbri since the trade.

BLUE NOTES

Faulk became the first defenseman chosen from the 2010 NHL Draft to score 100 goals in the NHL… Torey Krug is a native of Livonia, Michigan - which is a 25-minute drive from Detroit - and played three years at Michigan State University… With a power-play goal Wednesday, Saad would become the sixth Blue in team history to record a power-play goal in four straight games (Keith Tkachuk, Brett Hull, Bernie Federko, Greg Paslawski, Tony McKegney and Red Berenson.
