SAN JOSE - Blues Head Coach Craig Berube asked his team to move on from a missed call in overtime that decided Game 3, and that's exactly what they did in Game 4 to even the best-of-seven series at 2-2.
Ivan Barbashev and Tyler Bozak scored in the first period for the Blues, who recorded a power-play goal for the second consecutive game. With a 2-0 lead in the first, Jordan Binnington was solid the rest of the way, making 29 saves to record his 10th playoff win - the most ever by a Blues goaltender in a single postseason.
"We just talked about you know, you've got to just move on (from the call)," Berube said after a 2-1 win in Game 4. "The call, you can't change it now. It is what it is. I think we talked in terms like (in Game 3) we had a one-goal lead, we could have closed it out then and we didn't. We let it go to overtime, and the only difference tonight, we closed it out with a one-goal lead."
"Obviously there's different ways to handle that situation, and we did it perfect," Blues forward Vladimir Tarasenko said after Game 4. "The atmosphere inside the locker room was good, too. It (didn't) separate us, it keeps us more together… We did what we planned to, and the next game will be really important for us."
The Blues matched their highest playoff win total on Friday with their 10th win. A victory in Game 5 on Sunday would set the franchise record at 11.
"We've just got to play our game," Blues forward Tyler Bozak said. "We've had a lot of success on the road in the playoffs just playing the way we are most successful at getting pucks deep, not turning the puck over and playing in the offensive zone. Obviously it's a tough building to play in, they're a really good hockey team. We're going to have to have our best. Obviously it's the biggest game of the year so we're going to be ready."
