DENVER - Zach Sanford will be in the lineup Thursday for the first time in five games when the Blues meet the Colorado Avalanche at Pepsi Center (8:30 p.m. CT, NBCSN, 101 ESPN).
Sanford last played in a 2-1 win against the Edmonton Oilers on Dec. 18.

"I'm pretty pumped up. It's been awhile," Sanford said. "We've had good success against these guys, we've been battling them the last few years for playoff spots or top spots. Nothing changes tonight. I'm just excited to be back in."
Sanford skated on the fourth line with Mackenzie MacEachern and Jacob de la Rose in the morning skate on Thursday. His return means someone else has to sit out, and it looks like that will be Jordan Kyrou on Thursday.
"Kyrou has done a good job. We've got extra players and we're going to use them," Blues Head Coach Craig Berube said. "Sanford sat out quite awhile. We were on a winning streak and it's hard to change a lineup (in that case), but Jordan Kyrou has done a good job coming in here, he's produced for us a little bit and he's learning. He's a good player."
