After a
strong start to his NCAA season
at the University of Minnesota, St. Louis Blues prospect Jimmy Snuggerud had an outstanding showing for Team USA at the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship in Canada.
Playing a major role in Team USA's bronze medal finish, Snuggerud ended the tournament with 13 points in seven games - the third-highest point total in a tournament boasting many high-level NHL prospects.

Snuggerud's five goals, eight assists and 13 points all ranked second on Team USA. He capped off his tournament with two assists in an exciting 8-7 overtime win over Sweden on Thursday to take the bronze medal. He also shared the team lead with two power-play goals and two game-winning goals, and led outright with 37 shots on goal.
"I thought he had a great World Juniors," said Blues Head Coach Craig Berube. "He's a scorer - he's got a great shot and release, and has real good puck skills."
Logan Cooley - No. 3 pick in the 2022 NHL Draft and Minnesota teammate - was the only American to score more points than Snuggerud, while Canada's Connor Bedard led the tournament with 23 points.
Snuggerud, drafted with the No. 23 pick in last summer's draft, was joined at the World Junior Championship by fellow Blues prospects Simon Robertsson (2021 Draft) and Aleksanteri Kaskimaki (2022 Draft). Robertsson finished the tournament with one goal and one assist for Team Sweden, while Kaskimaki suited up in five games for Team Finland.
