ST. LOUIS - St. Louis Blues President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today the club has activated forward Nikita Soshnikov from injured reserve.
In addition, the Blues recalled forward Tage Thompson and defenseman Jordan Schmaltz from the American Hockey League's (AHL) San Antonio Rampage, and assigned forward Sammy Blais and defenseman Chris Butler back to San Antonio.

Soshnikov, 24, was acquired by the Blues from the Toronto Maple Leafs in exchange for a 2019 fourth round draft pick on Feb. 15. This season, the 5-foot-11, 185-pound forward has posted 17 points (seven goals, 10 assists) in 19 games with the AHL's Toronto Marlies while also dressing in three games for the Maple Leafs. Overall, the Nizhny Tagil, Russia native has appeared in 70 career NHL regular season games, recording 14 points (seven goals, seven assists) and 22 penalty minutes.
Thompson, 20, has appeared in 30 games for the Rampage this season, recording 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) and four penalty minutes. The 6-foot-5, 205-pound forward has also tallied six points (three goals, three assists) and eight penalty minutes in 24 games with the Blues. A native of Phoenix, Arizona, Thompson was originally drafted by the Blues in the first round, 26th overall, of the 2016 NHL Draft.
Schmaltz, 24, has dressed in 31 games for the Rampage this season, collecting 23 points (five goals, 18 assists) and 20 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound defenseman has also served four penalty minutes in four games for the Blues. A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Schmaltz was originally drafted by the Blues in the first round, 25th overall, of the 2012 NHL Draft.
Blais, 21, has played in 30 games for the Rampage this season, posting 28 points (11 goals, 17 assists) and 30 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-2, 205-pound forward has also recorded three points (one goal, two assists) and six penalty minutes in 11 games with the Blues. A native of Montmagny, Quebec, Blais was originally drafted by the Blues in the sixth round, 176th overall, of the 2014 NHL Draft.
Butler, 31, has dressed in 47 games for the Rampage this season, tallying 23 points (eight goals, 15 assists) and 16 penalty minutes. The 6-foot-1, 196-pound defenseman has also played in two games for the Blues. A native of St. Louis, Butler was originally signed by the Blues as a free agent on July 16, 2014.
