After undergoing three shoulder surgeries in a 28-month span, Tarasenko was limited to just 34 regular-season games in his previous two seasons combined. This season, Tarasenko has played in 73 games and leads the club in goals (34) and points (82).
Tarasenko is currently on a 10-game point streak, netting nine goals and 12 assists in that stretch.
Tarasenko is the first Blue to reach the 80-point mark in a single season since Pavol Demitra accomplished it in 2002-03. He also has recorded six seasons with 30 or more goals, becoming just the fifth player in Blues history to accomplish that with the franchise.
Only two St. Louis Blues have won the Masterton Trophy since it was first awarded following the 1967-68 season: Jamie McLennan (1998) and Blake Dunlop (1981).
Recent winners of the Masterton Trophy include Oskar Lindblom (2021, Philadelphia Flyers), Bobby Ryan (2020, Ottawa Senators) and Robin Lehner (2019, New York Islanders).
Winners will be named later at the 2022 NHL Awards. A date has yet to be announced.
