TRAVERSE CITY - For the second straight game, the Blues found themselves trailing early.
And for the second straight game, the end result was the same.
The Columbus Blue Jackets earned a 5-3 win against the Blues prospects on Saturday afternoon, dropping St. Louis to 0-2 in the NHL Prospects Tournament.

The Blues were trailing 3-1 midway through the third period before they made things interesting. Tanner Kaspick scored to get things going, and less than two minutes later, Jordan Kyrou would tie the game at 3-3. But Columbus responded with a power-play goal from Garret Cockerill only 39 seconds later to regain the lead.
An empty-net goal would seal the game late.

Goalie Joel Hofer - a 2018 fourth-round pick of the Blues (No. 107 overall) - made his first on-ice appearance in a Blues uniform, stopping 20 of 24 Columbus shots after giving up a goal just 1:42 into the game.
Erik Foley, who was acquired by the Blues in the trade deadline deal that sent Paul Stastny to the Winnipeg Jets, scored an impressive power-play goal late in the first period to even the score after 20 minutes.
Robert Thomas and Jake Walman recorded assists. Both players also picked up a point in the tournament opener on Friday.
The Blues will be off Sunday but will resume tournament action on Monday when they face the rival Chicago Blackhawks in Traverse City. Fans can tune into the action live at 6:30 p.m. at stlouisblues.com or by using the FOX Sports GO app.
