At the break: Jeff Petry

MONTREAL - With the Habs off for both the All-Star break and their bye week right afterwards, we took the time to look back at some of the key players on the roster and how their seasons measure up to where they were a year ago. Today: Jeff Petry.

The 31-year-old American has stood out on many levels this season. Petry is fifth among defensemen in goals this season with 10, and he's just two goals away from matching his career high - with 31 games left in the regular season.
Petry is also tied for first with Morgan Rielly and Seth Jones for most overtime goals among defensemen this season, with two apiece.

The Ann Arbor, MI native also tied a franchise record for defensemen by scoring two overtime goals in a season. Only P.K. Subban (2010-11) and Sheldon Souray (2006-07) have realized the feat.
Petry currently sits 12th in scoring among rearguards with 35 points in 51 games, and he's just seven points away from equalling the career high he set last season.
The blue-liner also set a single-game season high in time on ice when he logged 33:51 on November 19 against the Washington Capitals.

It's no secret that Petry stepped up his game in a big way when the Habs were without Shea Weber, and it's clear that he hasn't slowed things down since the captain's return.
