The Minnesota Duluth Bulldogs forward was on the ice at 12:42 a.m. on Sunday when fellow freshman Luke Mylymok scored the game-winner against the nationally top-seeded North Dakota Fighting Hawks in the fifth overtime at Scheels Arena, capping the longest contest in tournament history at 142:13.
From the opening faceoff to the decisive tally that beat goaltender Adam Scheel five-hole, the encounter lasted an incredible 6 hours and 12 minutes.
Biondi, who was rushing alongside Mylymok into Fighting Hawks territory, was the first to congratulate his teammate after sealing the 3-2 victory that helped the Bulldogs claim the Fargo Regional and earn their fourth consecutive berth in the Frozen Four, which will be held in Pittsburgh, PA from April 8-10.

Biondi will be the Canadiens' lone representative at PPG Paints Arena after hopefuls Cole Caufield, Jack Gorniak, Luke Tuch and Arvid Henrikson were all eliminated during regional play. Caufield, however, could very well win the Hobey Baker Award as the most outstanding player in the NCAA ranks this year when the announcement is made on April 9.
The Bulldogs will battle the UMass Minutemen for a spot in the national championship game.
The program boasts three NCAA titles (2011, 2018, 2019), all under head coach and former Canadiens defenseman, Scott Sandelin.
Biondi, 18, was a fourth-round selection (109th overall) this past October. The Hermantown, MN native has two goals and five points in 25 games this season.

Remember that Minnesota Duluth advanced to the final of the Fargo Regional after the Michigan Wolverines were forced to withdraw because of positive COVID-19 tests.
The 2020 Frozen Four was also cancelled last March because of the global pandemic.
