MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced on Monday that the team has acquired a seventh-round pick in 2020 and forward Aaron Luchuk from the Ottawa Senators, in return for Matthew Peca.

Luchuk, 22, has played in 4 games thus far this season with the AHL's Toronto Marlies and Belleville Senators, posting a -1 differential. The 5-foot-10, 186-pound forward has also registered 50 points (19 goals, 31 assists) in 45 games with the Newfoundland Growlers (ECHL).
In 31 career AHL regular season games with Belleville and Toronto since his debut in 2018-19, Luchuk has produced 9 points (4 goals, 5 assists). A native of Kingston, ON, he recorded 251 points (115 goals, 136 assists) in 274 games with Windsor and Barrie (OHL).
Peca agreed to terms on a two-year contract with the Canadiens on July 1st, 2018. The forward registered 10 points (3 goals, 7 assists) in 44 games with Montreal since last season.
