RALEIGH – Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Thursday that the team has acquired forward Jacob Perreault from the Anaheim Ducks in exchange for forward Jan Mysak.
Perreault, a Montreal, QC native, has tallied seven goals and added 11 assists, while serving 44 penalty minutes in 31 games with the San Diego Gulls in the American Hockey League this season.
Since making his AHL debut in 2020-21, Perreault has registered 91 points (32G, 59A) in 161 appearances. The 21-year-old right winger played his first – and only – NHL game with the Ducks on Jan. 8, 2022 against the New York Rangers.
Perreault was selected by the Ducks in the first round (27th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft. He is the son of the former Canadiens player Yanic Perreault, who played in Montreal from 2001 to 2004.
