Canadiens acquire Nate Thompson and a 5th-round pick from the Kings

MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Marc Bergevin announced today that the team has acquired forward Nate Thompson and a fifth-round pick in 2019 (pick acquired from the Arizona Coyotes), in return for a fourth-round pick in 2019 (pick acquired from the Calgary Flames).

Thompson, 34, has played 53 games for the Kings this season, recording four goals for six points and a plus-3 differential. The 6-foot-1, 207-pounder has also won 53.3% of his faceoffs.
A native of Anchorage, AK, Thompson has suited up in 672 NHL games with the Boston Bruins, New York Islanders, Tampa Bay Lightning, Anaheim Ducks, Ottawa Senators, and the Kings, posting 134 points (57 goals, 77 assists). He added 18 points (7 goals, 11 assists) in 62 career playoff contests. Thompson was Boston's sixth-round pick (183rd overall) in 2003.
