MONTREAL - Montreal Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes announced on Saturday that the team has agreed to terms on one-year, two-way contracts with forward Philippe Maillet and defenseman Brady Keeper.

Maillet spent the last two seasons with the Magnitogorsk Metallurg in the KHL, totalling 92 points (37 goals, 55 assists) in 113 games. The Lachenaie, QC native played two games with the Washington Capitals in 2020-21. In 217 career AHL games with the Ontario Reign and Hershey Bears, Maillet scored 59 goals and added 100 assists.

For his part, Keeper sported the colors of the Abbotsford Canucks last season, amassing one goal and five assists in 35 games before adding one goal in two playoff games. The 6-foot-2, 197-pound defenseman tallied 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists) in 107 games with the Springfield Thunderbirds, the Syracuse Crunch and the Canucks. Keeper also played two NHL games with the Florida Panthers.
