Canadiens claim forward Chris Tierney off waivers

The 28-year-old has played in 13 games for the Panthers this season

MONTREAL - The Canadiens announced on Thursday that they've claimed forward Chris Tierney off waivers.

Tierney, 28, has suited up for 13 games for the Panthers this season, putting up two goals and one assist.
A veteran of nine NHL seasons, the Keswick, ON native has also played for the San Jose Sharks and Ottawa Senators. He's recorded 75 goals and 154 assists for 229 points in 575 career NHL games.
The 6-foot-1, 191-pounder was the Sharks' second-round pick (55th overall) in 2012.
