Here are some games to circle on your calendar:
October 12 vs. Toronto
The Canadiens begin the season on home ice for the first time since October 2013 against the reigning Hart, Ted Lindsay and Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy winner Auston Matthews and the Maple Leafs.
It's a classic encounter between two teams looking to start the year on a positive note, so buckle up for an entertaining affair. No doubt the Bell Centre faithful will be fired up!
This could also mark the NHL debut for the top pick in the 2022 NHL Draft. Stay tuned…
November 25 @ Chicago
After four seasons behind the bench as an assistant coach with the Canadiens, Luke Richardson was hired as head coach of the Blackhawks on June 29.
This will mark Richardson's first tilt against his former players, who were big fans of the former defenseman during his tenure in Montreal.
And the epic rendition of the "The Star-Spangled Banner" at the United Center makes this must-watch TV for those who aren't in attendance.
December 1 @ Calgary
The annual Western Canada road trip is always a schedule highlight for the players and fans in these cities alike.
The contest against former Canadiens winger Tyler Toffoli and the Flames kickstarts a four-game trek that also includes stops in Edmonton (December 3) and Vancouver (December 5), before heading south of the border for the finale in Seattle (December 6).
We already know the fan support in Alberta and British Columbia will be off the charts!
December 21 @ Colorado
The Habs invade the Mile High City to battle the defending Stanley Cup champions, who claimed the coveted trophy for the third time in franchise history on June 26.
If Artturi Lehkonen remains with the Avalanche, this would be his first encounter versus Montreal since the trade on March 22.
The Finn was instrumental in Colorado's postseason run, scoring the series-winning goals in both the Conference Finals and the Stanley Cup Finals.
December 28 @ Tampa Bay
Amalie Arena will be packed with snowbirds for the Canadiens' first game following the Christmas break.
Martin St-Louis leads his troops against captain Steven Stamkos, Nikita Kucherov, Andrei Vasilevskiy and the Lightning in the first of two straight games in the Sunshine State.
A matchup with the Panthers (December 29) ends the Florida swing, before an afternoon tilt in Washington (December 31) brings the 2022 portion of the calendar to a close.
January 5 vs. New York Rangers
The first home game of the new year will see the Blueshirts visit the Bell Centre.
Artemi Panarin, Mika Zibanejad and Adam Fox are some of the most dynamic players in the sport - and reigning Vezina Trophy winner Igor Shesterkin is among the best between the pipes - so prepare to be entertained.
The Rangers reached the Conference Finals last season, falling to the Lightning in six games.
February 11 vs. New York Islanders
Family Weekend features back-to-back matinees ahead of Super Bowl LVII, as per usual.
The Islanders are the opponent on Saturday, before Connor McDavid, Leon Draisaitl and the Oilers hit the ice on Sunday.
Both games start at 12:30 p.m. ET.
February 28 @ San Jose
The Habs begin working their way through California with a stop in the Bay Area against the Sharks at the SAP Center.
Back-to-back games in SoCal await after that, with matchups in Los Angeles (March 2) and Anaheim (March 3).
The four-game road trip concludes against Max Pacioretty and the Golden Knights in Las Vegas (March 5).
March 13 vs. Colorado
Fans will likely have the opportunity to show "Lehky" some love for his five-plus seasons in a Canadiens uniform.
From Nathan MacKinnon to Gabriel Landeskog to Mikko Rantanen to Conn Smythe Trophy winner Cale Makar, the Avalanche boast a star-studded lineup, so St-Louis' players will have to be at their best.
Finding a way to ultimately beat the defending champs is always satisfying, no matter the venue.
April 13 vs. Boston
It doesn't get any better than a regular-season finale against the Bruins.
This could be a high-stakes game if playoff implications are involved for either squad.
Hopefully, the Canadiens will be heading into the postseason on a high.
